Responding to the Need

Nov 16, 2025    Sebastiano Rosa

In a world full of overwhelming needs, Jesus invites ordinary people with ordinary gifts to step into extraordinary impact. Drawing from the feeding of the 5,000, this message explores three responses to the needs around us—seeing only limitations, encouraging others toward faith, or offering what little we have for God to multiply. Discover how joyfully using your time, gifts, and resources can open the door for God’s miraculous work in our church, our community, and our world.

Group Discussion Questions:

1. When you consider the needs around you—at church, in your family, or in the community—do you tend to respond more like Philip, Andrew, or the boy? What does that reveal about your initial mindset toward serving or giving?

2. Think about a time when someone encouraged you by saying, “I see this in you.” How did that shape your faith or confidence? How might God want to use you to encourage someone else?

3. Jesus chose to work through the disciples and the boy, even though He could have done the miracle alone. What does this reveal about God’s desire to partner with us? How does that challenge or encourage you personally?

4. The boy offered something small that Jesus multiplied. What are the “five loaves and two fish” in your life right now—gifts, time, resources, or abilities that feel limited but could be meaningful if entrusted to God?

5. As you consider what Jesus may be asking you to offer, what is one concrete step you can take this week to respond with trust and vulnerability—serving, encouraging, giving, or showing up where there’s a need?
