Participant Guide
Sunday, May 17
Waiting can be frustrating, discouraging, and exhausting, especially when life feels uncertain or unresolved. But Isaiah 40 reminds us that waiting on God is not passive inactivity; it is active trust. In the waiting, God strengthens us, shapes us, renews us, and prepares us for what is ahead. Rather than giving in to doubt, bitterness, or disengagement, we are invited to participate in what God is doing through prayer, faithfulness, community, and intentional spiritual growth. As our church family enters this new season together, the invitation is to wait on God with expectation and trust that He is still working, even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
Group Discussion Questions:
Isaiah 40 reminds us that waiting on God is active, not passive. What is the difference between simply “waiting around” and actively trusting God in the middle of uncertainty?
What might it look like for you to actively participate with God in this season instead of disengaging? Are there spiritual habits, conversations, steps of obedience, or relationships God may be inviting you into right now?
What is one practical way you can choose trust this week while you wait? How can this group pray for you and help encourage you in that process?
When you think about this season of your life, what are you currently waiting on God for, and how has that waiting affected your faith, emotions, or perspective?
The message talked about how waiting can lead to discouragement, doubt, or even bitterness if we are not careful. What thoughts, fears, or frustrations are you most tempted to believe while you wait?
