The Good Shepherd: My Sheep Know Me

Mar 1, 2026    Sebastiano Rosa

In a world flooded with artificial voices, distorted truth, and constant noise, how do we know what’s real? In this message from John 10, Jesus declares that He is the Good Shepherd, the One voice we can trust. While hired hands abandon the sheep and wolves seek to destroy, Jesus willingly lays down His life for us and calls us by name. This sermon explores how we can discern His voice, why we are more like sheep than we realize, and what it means to run to Him with our burdens instead of trying to carry them alone. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, uncertain, or unsure who to trust, this message is a powerful reminder that the Good Shepherd still leads, still protects, and still gives abundant life.

Group Discussion Questions:

Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. What does this reveal about His character and what stands out to you most about the way He cares for His people?

If Jesus is the Good Shepherd, what does it mean for us to be sheep? In what ways do you see yourself reflected in the description of sheep (dependent, vulnerable, needing guidance, designed for community)?

Sheep recognize and follow the shepherd’s voice. What voices most compete for your attention in daily life and how can you intentionally grow in recognizing and responding to the voice of Jesus?

Sheep aren’t built to carry heavy burdens or defend themselves alone. What burden are you currently trying to manage on your own instead of entrusting to the Shepherd? What would it look like to practically surrender that this week?

Sheep live in community and don’t thrive in isolation. Where might you be tempted to live independently rather than relationally? What is one concrete step you can take this week to lean more fully into Christian community and shared faith?
